Presidents Cup 2022 pairings, tee times: four ball teams, full schedule for Day 2 on Friday

The United States lit up the international team on the first day of the 2022 Presidents Cup by a margin of 4-1 in games of four (alternate shot) and take a big lead in the last three days of play, one that Trevor Immelman’s team unlikely to beat.

However, if black and gold is going to do any damage, it’s likely to come in a four-ball format that has been kind to the international team over the years. Five more matches will go out in the middle of the day on Friday at Quail Hollow Golf Club as the international team tries to regain some of the footing it lost earlier this week against the Davis Love III team.

Love has an embarrassment of riches to draw as he has to sit down with two of the top 25 players in the world each of the first two days and four in each session on Saturday. After Billy Horschel and Kevin Kisner sat out on Thursday, they will go out on Friday for what will be Horschel’s first team play as a pro and only Kisner’s second such opportunity.

Similarly, Immelman will play with Sebastian Muñoz and Christiaan Bezuidenhout, who watched the matches on Thursday, and both will get their first taste of the Presidents Cup.

As for the other matchups, there aren’t many surprises on the US side. Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas, as well as Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele, the two most reliable couples, will date again. Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns will try to get big revenge after being responsible for the only point the United States lost on Thursday. Kisner will take over from Collin Morikawa and play alongside Cameron Young, while Horschel will replace Tony Finau and play with Max Homa.

The international team changed everything. None of the matchups on Day 2 are the same as Day 1 with Immelman trying to find something for his team to hold on to for the weekend.
